Just wanted to say thank you to Les Therrien of Desiign Architectural Studio. We had the pleasure of working with Les in the construction of our new home in Amherstburg. After meeting him at our first consultation, we knew we wanted him to help us with our ideas in the design, and now that we have moved into our beautiful home, we can say without any hesitation that we made the right choice. This was not our first experience with a house designer but it was definitely our best. We were designing a ranch style home with thoughts of retiring. Smaller and low maintenance was our intention.
Les was welcoming and enthusiastic about our project from the beginning. We brought a simple house plan I had seen on Pinterest to our first meeting and he turned it into a "real" project. We were guided along the way in regards to space efficiency, creativity and cost effectiveness. Never did we feel pressured to resign to something we didn't want. Les seemed to find a way to make things work or suggest something even better. After a few in person meetings where he got a feel for our ideas he would email us a suggested floor plan. We would send back our notes and he would make the changes and resend the floor plans often the same day. When we felt we needed a "one on one" meeting we were promptly scheduled for one.
Just when we thought we were done, Les sent us this virtual attachment where we could see the inside of our home in 3D. We were able to make real decisions on window and ceiling heights and design. Something we hadn't thought of but was so important. Les sent us several virtual options for ceilings heights and styles as well as different options for window sizes and design. What a fantastic tool!
Our final plans included outside elevations of all sides showing the colour brick and stone we were thinking of so we could get a really good idea of that too.
As we start our build we feel confident in our choices and very much a part of the project. Les was very open, patient and easy to talk to while listening to our ideas and using his creative skills to make things happen. The design process was a stress free and easy first step!
